Accessible bathrooms

ADA conversions, barrier-free showers, grab bars and walk-in tubs. A few well-placed changes are often enough. A full remodel is available when they are not.

The room should not be the reason someone leaves home

Most bathrooms were not designed for a wheelchair, a walker, or knees that do not bend the way they used to. Bringing a bathroom up to ADA standards does not always mean gutting it. We have been doing accessibility conversions across New England for years, and the crew is factory trained for the products that actually hold up.

ADA products we install

  • Accessible toilets
  • Barrier-free showers
  • Custom shower and tub liners and wall surrounds
  • Grab bars
  • Roll-in showers
  • Roll-under sinks
  • Seats and benches
  • Tub-to-shower conversions
  • Walk-in tubs
  • Walk-thru inserts

Conversions that change how the room is used

A standard tub is a slip-and-fall waiting to happen, and it is often impossible from a wheelchair. Taking the tub out and putting in an accessible shower is usually the single change that does the most. Other conversions we do:

  • A walk-in tub, or a tub cut-out that lowers the curb and keeps the bath
  • A high curb swapped for a low-profile or barrier-free base
  • Permanent chairs and benches in the stall
  • ADA shower systems and faucets

Even if the bathroom works today, it may not in ten years. Building the next version of the room now is cheaper than retrofitting in a hurry later.
